With outstretched arms, the hero of Scott Fitzgerald's "Great Gatsby" returned each night to the Long Island Sound, where he sought the light at the end of Daisy's dock. For Gatsby, that light reflected the steady glow of his desire for Daisy, across all boundaries of time and space. Hudson Valley has masterfully replicated the dock lights that dotted eastern shorelines in the early 20th century to create a collection that Gatsby himself would single out. While New Canaan's triplex glass and solid brass construction will survive the harshest coastal conditions, the single-light bathroom wall sconce looks splendid in fine interiors. Hudson Valley crafts authentic details, such as the drip loop at the base of the bulb cage, according to the rigid standards of a bygone era.
